This is an OMG solid body electric guitar that’s carved in a traditional Tele-style body profile. The body is crafted from old-growth pine decking material recovered from the Battleship Texas. The laminated body features Fender “Texas Special” pickups, a compensated Tele-style hardtail bridge, and a one-of-a-kind resin-“inlaid” headstock atop its maple neck. This is the first body to feature resin stars with the golden ship’s bow on the face.
On Friday, September 29 2023, Old Market Guitarworks’ luthier, Phil Whitmarsh took the guitar to meet country music star, Sam Hunt, whose grandfather had served aboard BB-35 during WWII (and was born in 1921). Hunt strummed the guitar and passed it around the band to show it off, before signing and passing it back to Phil. Sam’s signature has been covered with finish to protect it from damage.
