This dagger was created using torpedo blister panel steel from the Battleship Texas clad around W2 tool steel and forge welded together to form the blade. The guard was made from the ship steel as well, and features the original surface that’s been sanded to show the decades of paint, primer, and anti-corrosion coatings. The pommel was created by heat treating and upsetting a section of the ship steel to form a thick block that was then turned on a lathe to form the pommel. The handle is made using sections of the deck wood stacked up with mammoth ivory and blue G10 composite spacers. Two bronze spacers are also alongside the center ivory section. This was done to represent the blue, white, and gold colors of the US Navy. The entire knife is based upon the Fairbairn-Sykes Fighting Knife.
