Harpoon Bowie with Reversible Sheath

BB35-A-130

By Jonathan Sibley, Djinn Hand Made Knives

Starting with the steel: the whole The Blade Bar team plus Ronny Roseman got together for a battleship forge weld night. All 3 of @thebladebartx auction knives came from one mighty 8 lb kyu-mai canister consisting of torpedo blister steel, 1084+4%nickle powdered steel, 1084, 15n20, and w2 in the center to give a variety of colors when etched. The handle is a frame construction with decking from the Texas with original paint still on (stabilized by Terry Dunn) and a denim micarta frame for the navy dungarees. Guard is naval brass with a carved rope design.
The sheath and frog are from heavy vegetable tanned leather hand tooled, stitched, and finished to resemble the worn finish of the deck wood. The sheath and frog are reconfigurable to carry the knife on either the left- or right-hand sides.
