This knife started life as an 8 lb canister with 2 layers of ship steel. 2 1/8 layers of 1095. 2 1/16 layers of 15n20 with an 1/8″ core of w2. All filled in with 1084 with 4% nickel powder. All acid etched to give a nice contrast between layers.
The handle is a frame handle with deck wood and naval brass in the center. It has a mosaic pin and a 3-piece brass bolster with a black g10 spacer.
The stand is mahogany with a leather lined insert for the knife.
