This item was sold in our Independence Day online auction.
I designed this knife after my second tour in Vietnam, it took me about two years to get it where I felt like a soldier would feel confident to carry it and feel like he could depend on it if need be. My wife Leigh named it The Veteran.
Terry Dunn dyed and stabilized the reclaimed deck wood used in the handle. The scales created by Sara Boren topped this knife off. The color coils embedded in the handle are actual communications wire pulled from the ship.
I would also like to give credit to Stuart Maynard for making the Damascus. San mai construction with 34 layers, one layer for each year the USS Texas was in service.
